“Evolve’s website review was much more than I expected. It was easy to read, easy to understand, and it gave us at least three, real, almost instant changes we could make to our site to dramatically improve its performance. And the best part; it was free!”

Andover Town Council

Website Design   Andover Council

The Background:

Andover Town Council is a recently formed town council in Andover, Hampshire. As a new council, there was an obvious requirement for a website to be created. This requirement was also a great opportunity to design a website that did more than just present the required information to users.

The Challenge:

We chose to create a site that would actually help council staff to organise their many administrative tasks such as meetings, agendas, minutes, budgets and reports. We also agreed that the site should give more information about the area and it's Councillors than just the required information.

The Solution:

Rather than simply listing the wards that make up the council's area, we added dedicated pages for each ward, using the brilliant Google Maps to allow users to see the area in detail. We also created an intelligent meetings system, meaning staff can add upcoming meetings into the system, allowing residents to see and attend meetings if they choose. This also gave staff a single place to manage information about that meeting, along with a location to add agendas and minutes as they become available. The final site not only has a large amount of good quality information on it, but also gives a framework that can contain all the information the council may wish to present in years to come.
